This August 7th, Gittelson Jewelers is celebrating our 33rd year in business and we know we couldn’t have done it without the support of the Twin Cities community. We wanted to take a trip down memory lane and talk about why we’re here, what we’ve done and what we will continue to do as a small business in the Minneapolis community. But first, let's talk about our anniversary offer. #### A chance to win diamond earrings! During the month of August, every customer that makes a purchase in our store will be entered to win a pair of diamond cluster earrings. It's that easy! There has been a lot that’s happened in that time, with us as a small business, but also with Minneapolis and the entire Minnesota community over the last 33 years. Opening right here, in what used to be known as the Cargill building, currently Northstar West, we have seen many changes, events and life pass by our small 297 square foot store in the last 33 trips around the sun. While that may be true, some things truly do stay the same. The love, appreciation, and devotion we have for our customers and this city is truly something special. There are a few memorable moments in our history we want to reflect on this 33rd anniversary. ### Kirby Puckett and Gittelson Jewelers When we opened here in 1985, we never would have dreamed that shortly thereafter, the Minnesota Twins would win two World Series titles in the years that followed. Being that they are based here in our city since the construction of the Metrodome, they have always held a special place in our hearts. This was taken to another level when Eugene Gittelson was fortunate enough to cross paths with Kirby Puckett at a local bar while out on the town one night. This night turned into a beautiful friendship, of which Kirby proudly supported Gittelson Jewelers with several promotions to bring traffic to the store and to ultimately help us build our customer base. While how we communicate with our customers may have changed (email, website, etc) our approach stays the same. We are still your family-owned and operated jeweler. We still care deeply about our customers and want them to have not only the most amazing experience, but we want to build a relationship and a friendship that will span the decades. Speaking of relationships, now that we are in our 33rd year, we have 3rd generation families visiting our jewelry store, buying their jewelry and planting the seed that will blossom into a special relationship with their kids when they are old enough to have a need for fine jewelry or just a place they trust to bring their families’ jewelry, if it were to need maintenance some day. It’s an absolute joy to be just a small part of these families stories. There’s something so pure about this, we just feel lucky to be a small part of that moment!
