They have been loyal customers for years and wouldn’t think of their daughter’s engagement ring coming from anyone else but their lifelong and trusted jeweler. Naturally, we were thrilled to hear that their daughter had found ‘the one’! Samantha and Blake grew up in the Twin Cities metro area but their work brought them to sunny Florida. Even with the change in location, Blake found a way to reach out to us - with technology today, it makes the process easier than ever to connect. Through some conversation over email and over the phone, we figured out what kind of engagement ring Samantha was looking for. I t’s safe to say that we fulfilled her every dream and more! ![Real Engagement Stories in Minneapolis](https://gittelsonjewelers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/image6.jpg) ### Picking out the perfect engagement ring Samantha was looking for something a little different; a cushion cut center diamond for her engagement ring. Luckily, we were able to track down the perfect diamond, a gorgeous square-shape cushion cut diamond with a ton of life and brilliance. Her mounting (which is custom-made for her!) has small round full cut diamonds set in a thin 18kt white gold band. The thinness of the band, coupled with the size and shape of the center cushion cut diamond really makes the center diamond ‘pop’! Arguably her favorite detail and something she hadn’t even thought of, (the cherry-on-top of her perfect engagement ring) is the pave diamonds that trail up the prongs and underneath the crown. These small details are what engagement rings are all about, it should feel special and personalized to the beautiful woman who wears it! Can we talk about the nautical theme happening in these engagement photos? Blake not only made sure to custom design Samantha’s engagement to her exact specifications, but he also planned a surprise proposal complete with a sailboat, a gorgeous sunset and the ring of her dreams! Blake tricked Samantha into a Sunday evening boat ride off the Tampa coast by making up a story that his boss had offered it as a ‘thank you’ for all of his hard work lately. Samantha ate it up hook, line and sinker - she didn’t suspect a thing as they had just put an offer in on the house of their dreams and were waiting to hear if it had been accepted by the seller. Lots of exciting things happening for this young couple! Now Blake had the girl of his dreams, the perfect engagement ring, and a romantic backdrop ideal for popping the question. Samantha mentioned how she thought Blake would propose with a long speech but his proposal in reality was very short and to the point. Whether on a boat, in a couple’s backyard or wherever a couple’s proposal story plays out, the surprise of the bride is a factor that should be included in every proposal. Modern couple’s today talk about marriage and even pick out the engagement ring together. However, when it comes to the moment that will change their lives forever, a dream proposal really isn’t complete without the complete shock and surprise of the bride! Blake totally nailed it! Samantha says, ### “Who knew a girl could strike out so well with an amazing fiancé and a beautiful ring?? I am so so lucky!” Yes, you are Samantha!  We couldn’t be more happy for you both, and can’t wait to hear all about your wedding plans! In addition to all of this exciting news, Blake and Samantha’s offer was accepted by the seller and they are officially homeowners!
