Real Engagement Stories in Minneapolis
We love real engagement stories! Because every couple is different, every proposal will have unique details that make it special and tailored to that couple. Edwin was introduced to us from a previous customer and we were so glad that we got to be the jeweler to custom make them a beautiful diamond engagement ring inspired by rings that Anahi had mentioned she liked.
Of course, we had to go above and beyond and tailor everything from the quality to the style, to make sure Anahi’s engagement ring is extra special and sparkly! Edwin had a plan to surprise her with a proposal on a trip they took to Miami with family and friends. The trip was taken over their 7 year anniversary as a couple, but little did Anahi know, their 7 year anniversary would signal the end of their dating relationship and the start of their engagement!

The Custom Engagement Ring
Edwin had the trip booked before he picked out the ring. That meant we had a deadline in terms of when the engagement ring needed to be designed, the center diamond was chosen and all details buttoned up by a specific date. In terms of speaking to couples’ engagement stories, Gittelson Jewelers was involved in every last detail! And, we have no problem working on tight schedules.
When Edwin came in to meet with us for the first time, he showed us examples of rings that included details like white gold, halos, twisting shanks and round center diamonds. Taking the best of what he brought to the table, Gittelson Jewelers combined a twisted shared prong diamond shank, a round halo and high-quality G color VS clarity diamonds to ensure that Anahi’s engagement ring would shine from every angle. The key to designing the perfect halo design is to custom design the size of the diamond halo to the millimeter measurement of the center diamond. It is imperative that the quality also is matched across all diamonds in the engagement ring which ensures a cohesive look from all angles.
The Proposal
Edwin and Anahi had already spent a few days in Miami, enjoying time out on the water and on the beach. To Anahi’s shock and delight, Edwin had one more surprise up his sleeve. Surrounded by friends and family, Anahi was blindfolded and led down to the beach. Knowing that something was in store for her doesn’t quite prepare a future bride for the moment of when the love of their life proposes. Down on one knee in the sand with the engagement ring in hand, Edwin had written out ‘Will you marry me?’ encased in a heart.
In the video shot by friends and family, you can see Anahi’s shock and happiness as the blindfold was removed and she saw the man she loves down on one knee in the sand asking the one question she’s dreamt about hearing.

There were a half dozen friends and family who were ‘in’ on the surprise and helped Edwin pull off one of our most spectacular proposals to date. We are a big fan of private proposals; just involving the couple and a special private moment. Proposals that involve the help of loved ones are special because they are present to cheer you on, support you and party with you at a moment, that for many, only comes once in a lifetime.
Anahi and Edwin both speak Spanish as well as English, but there is nothing like a Latin-based language to explain how Anahi felt on the day that Edwin proposed:
Eres mi mejor amiga, amante, y ahora prometida.

Congratulations to our friends Edwin and Anahi! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for the newly engaged!
