Real Wedding Stories in Minneapolis
Where do we start with this real wedding story? We had the pleasure of meeting our most recent newlyweds while they were still dating. Megan’s twin sister Catherine introduced the beautiful bride-to-be to us right after she got engaged to the man of her dreams. Naturally, as twin sisters, they are extremely close. However, just because they are twins does not mean that they are exactly alike in every way.
While it may be hard to tell them apart at first glance, Megan and Catherine compliment each other with slight differences in their personalities. Megan is so grounded, beautiful and genuine it was so easy to feel like I’ve known her for years! Once Megan’s sister and brother-in-law had attested that Trevor was worthy of Megan’s hand (and boy, was he ever), he had the opportunity to visit our store and we began the discussion about which engagement ring would be perfect for Megan. We hope you enjoy this real wedding by Gittelson Jewelers.

The Proposal
Of course, discussions get off-track in our store once in awhile, so we also learned that Trevor was a grad student at the University of St. Thomas (go Tommies!) and that he had A TON of ideas on how to propose to his future wife. We love good brainstorming sessions ourselves, so we really enjoyed talking with Trevor about how to best to pop the question to Megan. A huge part of the proposal is, of course, the ring. And we got it just right for Megan – her ring is so feminine and beautiful! We browsed through a lot of different styles of rings; it was really important to Trevor that he pick out one that felt right to him.
When you ask the woman of your dreams to spend the rest of her life with you, you want it to be just right! Megan’s ring has a gorgeous floral-aspect about it, with the scalloped round halo of diamonds around her colorless center diamond. Set in white gold, the ring feels a little vintage, a little romantic and whole lot Megan. He proposed on her birthday which is December 12th. Megan was completely surprised!
Not too surprised to say yes, however.

The Showstopper…
Trevor and Megan’s wedding echoed their design choices. Aspects of her engagement ring that felt true to the couple melded into their theme. They were married at the Wayzata Country Club on a late summer afternoon. The lush greenery picked up the floral aspects of her engagement ring and the classic ivory and blush roses in her bouquet felt like something out of a classic movie – so soft and elegant. Megan’s dress was purchased at Posh Bridal on Wayzata Bay. It’s a beautiful strapless mermaid/fit and flare style. The soft lace detail shines through and felt a little vintage with her perfectly subtle one-layer tulle veil.
It really allowed her hourglass shape to shine, you can see all those hours she has put in at the yoga studio! The showstopper is how absolutely taken Trevor was with Megan; you can see their love light up on camera.

Megan and Trevor were married Sunday, September 4th, 2016 amongst a loving and supportive group of family and friends who truly put the fairytale factor into their special day. We couldn’t be more happy for the newlyweds who are taking on new adventures as a married couple, including beginning construction on their new home, just down the street from Megan’s sister and her husband. We can not wait to see what’s next for them and we wish them all the best on all of their adventures together!
